Review: Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Blackhead Out Balm

I got wind of the Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Blackhead Out Balm when I was finally having issues with blackheads on my nose.

I tried using the pore strips from Nature Republic (the one with the cute elephant on the packaging) but I couldn't stand the pain.

Anyhow, I ordered mine from Lazada and it was fulfilled by Sungzi Beauty Products.

First off, the product arrived faster than the other items I ordered together with it. It came with a bubblewrap.

It's 30g and judging by how I tend to use it, it's going to last a long time.

It smells waxy, to be honest, but I don't mind that. The scent is not very strong anyway so you get used to it pretty quickly.

What are the features of this item? I'm copy-pasting this from the product details they have on Lazada

This cleansing balm dissolves and removes blackheads as Jeju volcanic clusters absorbs sebum and oil massages your skin.
1. Clears the nose free of blackheads.
The balm melts as you roll it onto the skin, and dissolves the blackheads, clearing your skin.

2. Washable-melting type
The washable-type balm makes it easy to use, with fresh finish for oily skin.

3. Jeju volcanic cluster with strong sebum absorption
This precious nature oriented Jeju volcanic clusters are stronger than technology and red clay in skin clearing from the pores.

How to use:
Before cleansing, apply an appropriate amount onto where blackheads are concentrated. Use fingertips to massage for 3~5 minutes and use cleansing foam or lukewarm water to rinse off afterwards.
The consistency is similar to the banila Co. clean it Zero product. Because it's a balm/waxy type, it tends to melt off the moment you rub it between your fingers. And that is also the science behind it being painless when removing the blackheads or whiteheads.

I use this on my nose and on the side of my mouth where whiteheads mainly appear (I have no idea why!). The instruction said to rub it for 3-5 minutes. I was able to pull off whiteheads around my mouth with this time period, but the black heads on my nose where pretty deep-seated. I rubbed it for 10 minutes more, and it was  able to pull off some of them but not all.

I intend to use this at least 3 times a week to get results.

Price is expensive when bought here, I got mine for P399.00 (KRW9500) already on sale. Original price in KRW is 5000.

Verdict: Does what it claims to do but not better than the 3-step pore strips. Painless so you basically sow what you reap.

Grade: 3 out of 5

Will I repurchase?: Yes, only because I'm not very tolerant of pain

xo,
Jae
